Water Project

One Peace at a Time

Step One

Clean water is an increasing problem in the world! Even though people in more developed countries are not affected many third world countries are; and they are suffering. Women in Africa have to walk many miles just to get toxic and dirty water; that could eventually kill them. Each day 5,000 children world wide die from diarrhea-related diseases; this comes from the lack of safe water. Water can be easily obtained by people in the USA by just turning on the faucet but, in many other countries people have to walk very or travel far too just get a gallon of water to drink.

Many fresh water sources are affected by droughts and pollutants. Global warming is also causing the water to completely dry out. It is becoming difficult for fresh water to be reached. The only possible ways of getting water is to dig huge wells for ground waters; and many people do not have the tools.

Step Two

Many organizations have been stepping up in the fight for clean water. Even celebrities; Jay-Z has many organization in Africa that actually helps out and finds water for tribes that are accessible easily. Many organizations like Charity Water, The Water Project Organization, and many non-profit organizations all are fighting for clean water. Charity Water plan is “100% of public donations go directly to water projects. All operating costs are covered by a group of private donors so every dollar you give can go to people in need.” Meaning their plan is every donation by people will be donated to many different types of water organization. The water Project Organizations plan is “Matching donors to proven partners who are drilling fresh water wells and constructing other sustainable water projects. -Sending up to 100% of public donations to fund these efforts, ensuring your gifts provide clean water - however you choose. -Showing every donor the specific impact of their gifts through photos, short stories and GPS map coordinates.” Meaning they are actually digging wells that will make it much easier for people to receive clean water and also donating water to other organization.
I truly feel like all of these organizations are helping people in struggling areas where water is very difficult to receive and that is clean. They all are actually doing helpful things that will last forever.
